We received the terrible news that Sarah Gusterson (Gus) – our Business Development Manager – has passed away after a short illness.

Sarah worked for Public-i for over twenty years. Many of our clients and partners will fondly remember her, and will be feeling the same disbelief that we are all feeling.

But more than being a colleague – far more than that – she was our friend. The first to call to congratulate us for good news, the first to call to check in when there was bad. Sarah was larger than life: full of love, genuinely empathetic and with a booming laugh that could cheer you up no matter what. Never seen without her trademark splash of lipstick (which always remained stubbornly stuck to her teacup for several washes after she’d left the office) and a whirlwind on the dancefloor at the Christmas party.

Sarah was the best of us. We will miss her terribly and her loss leaves a massive space in all of our hearts. Our grief is nothing to that felt by her family and friends, and we are holding them in our thoughts at this awful time. Her mum, husband and daughters, and especially Jane (Sarah’s sister, and our HR & office manager) and Adam (Sarah’s brother-in-law, and our head of development).

Rest in peace, Gus.
